Explains x-ray procedure to patients, assures safety of patients, reviews films to assure appropriate images, and prepares files and reports./p divbrbEssential Responsibilities:/b/div ul liGreets patient, confirms image to be taken, and explains x-ray procedure to patient./li liReviews patients medical history prior to performing x-ray procedure and confirms that patient has signed a contrast media consent form if needed./li liTakes x-ray exposures of patient following protocol for position of body, intensity of radiation, and time of exposure./li liProcesses film and inspects images to determine that images meet the requirements of radiologist./li liMaintains equipment and examination room, stores film, and keeps inventory of related supplies./li liPrepares patient information files showing patients name, date of x-ray, referring physician, and number of exposures./li liPrepares and submits reports showing the number and type of x-rays./li liPerforms other related duties as directed./li /ulbr divbSouth Cluster Zone 1 Rad Tech Float Position: Falls Church (Home), Northwest, Alexandria, Cap Hill, Tysons, Springfield/b/div divb/b/div divbBasic Qualifications:/b/div divuExperience/u/div ul liN/A/li /ul divuEducation/u/div ul liHigh School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required./li liCompletion of formal training in radiologic technology./li /ul divuLicense, Certification, Registration/u/div ul liRadiologic Technologist License (Virginia)/li /ul ul liRadiologic Technologist Certification/li /ul ul liBasic Life Support/li /ul divbAdditional Requirements:/b/div ul liIn order to work effectively with patients, must have effective interpersonal and communication skills and be able to stand, walk, bend, lift at least 50 pounds, hear, speak, and see./li liProficiency in the use of applicable computer software./li /ul divbPreferred Qualifications:/b/div ul liMinimum one (1) year of experience as a radiologic technologist preferred to include on-the-job training and internships./li /ul
