In addition to other programs, North Star operates two residential programs in Lancaster and Berks counties and a separate social enterprise, Florissant Collective./ppbr//ppstrongSummary:/strong/ppPart-time Restoration Specialists apply trauma-informed principles to facilitate the program and operations at the residential home and create a safe and caring environment for residents under the supervision of the Program Director. This is an hourly position (minimum of 16 hours weekly)./ppbr//ppstrongThe Restoration Specialist must be:/strong/pulliWilling to sign the North Star Initiative Statement of Faith (Code of Beliefs)/liliWilling to sign the Kingdom Living policy/liliA current and active member and/or regular attendee of a local church/liliAble to fully support the North Star Initiative's core values and ministry philosophy/li/ulpstrongEssential Functions:/strong/pulliCreate and maintain supportive, boundaried relationships with residents/liliPromote survivor agency and mutuality/liliPractice a trauma-informed and strength-based approach/liliMaintain daily program structure under Program Director’s supervision/liliEnsure residents’ safety and supervision/liliFacilitate daily routines, medicine management, community meals, and devotional times/liliEmpower residents with life skills development/liliEffectively integrate faith into interactions with others in ways that are edifying and respectful/liliTransport residents, as needed/liliMaintain a clean and orderly environment in the residence, reporting repairs and inventory needs to Residence Manager/liliLiaise with Residence Manager to maintain inventory and house schedules/liliAttend monthly all-staff meetings and trainings/liliAbide by NSI policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all mandated legal/regulatory requirements/liliProvide de-escalation during urgent residential issues/liliMaintain consistent, thorough documentation as required by organization’s policies/liliModel and maintain healthy boundaries. Support other NSI staff in their roles./liliMediate conflicts and model healthy resolution skills, with both residents and team members. Speak well to and about residents and team members./liliEngage volunteers in daily programming and scheduling./liliAdditional responsibilities, as determined by program needs or the Executive Director/li/ulpstrongEducation and Experience:/strong/pulliMinimum:/lili2- or 4-year college degree in human services, social work, psychology, counseling or related area, or commensurate lived experience/liliAwareness of the impact of human trafficking and trauma/liliTwo years of experience working in direct care/liliFamiliarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 platforms/liliMust be over 21 years of age (with relevant experience or education)/liliPreferred:/liliOver 25 years of age/liliFour years of experience working in direct care, preferably in a social service and/or residential setting/liliTraining and/or certification in trauma-informed care/li/ulpstrongQualifications:/strong/pulliPurposeful and intentional relationship with Jesus Christ./liliEnthusiastic about providing recovery support to residents./liliUnderstanding of sex trafficking, exploitation, addiction, and what trauma-informed care looks like./liliCultural competency, ability to communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds and cultures./liliFlexibility in work schedule as determined by program needs./liliAble to remain calm in stressful situations and be supportive of residents who may be experiencing pre-crisis or crisis situations./liliAble to work with women who have experienced severe trauma without judgment or unrealistic expectations./liliAble to work with sensitive information, using discretion for the safety and security of residents and staff./liliAble to maintain healthy boundaries./liliA “self-starter” and driven to follow up on assignments./liliParticipation in all required training and shows understanding of the training content/li/ulpstrongSupervised by:/strong Program Director/ppstrongPhysical Demands:/strong/ppThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
