The position will be responsible for lawn and plant care, snow removal, and maintaining clean, safe, and clear access to and from the Museum. Under supervision of the lead groundskeeper, maintenance supervisor, managers, and Facility Planning and Operations director./p pstrongDuties and Responsibilities/strong/p ol liCares for and maintains grass, shrubs, plants, trees, sidewalks, paving blocks, steps, landings, parking lot, and drains by use of broom, rake, edge trimmer, leaf blower, lawn mower, Bobcat, and pick-up truck/li liUses shovels, snow blower, Bobcat, and pick-up truck with plow to remove snow and ice from Museum entrances, exterior stairs, landings, sidewalks, driveway, and parking lot/li liPerforms daily rounds of Museum property picking up refuse and emptying exterior garbage containers/li liMaintain safe, clean, and clear entrances to the Museum at all times/li liWorks with team leader to perform scheduled maintenance and monitor inventory of lawn and snow removal tools and equipment to keep them in safe, working order/li liRaises and lowers American and Chicago flags including setting flags at half staff/li liCommunicate professionally and effectively with the public, coworkers, supervisory staff, and contractors in performance of daily grounds keeping tasks/li liMaintain safe and clean office, work areas, tool/equipment storage areas/li liAssists facilities maintenance staff when needed/li liPerforms other appropriate duties as assigned by team leader, supervisor, managers, or director/li /ol p /p pstrongQualifications: /strong/p ol liHigh school diploma or GED/li liGrounds keeping or landscaping experience./li liSnow removal experience a plus/li liValid Illinois drivers license/li /ol p /p pstrongWorking Conditions/strong/p ol liAbility to work in exterior settings year around in a wide range of temperature and weather conditions/li liAbility to come into work early and stay late when weather conditions require, ie; snow, wind damage, or flooding/li /ol pstrongPhysical Demands/strong/p ol liLifting, pushing, pulling, reaching upward/downward, grasping, walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, standing, driving/li /ol pstrongWe encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every requirement./strong/p pstrongSupervision Received:/strongbr / Receives general supervision from the Facilities Operations Manager./p pstrongSupervision Exercised:/strongbr / This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities./p pstrongWork Hours and Shift:/strongbr / 40 hours per week/p pstrongHybrid Eligibility:/strongbr / Not Eligible/p pstrongLocation:/strongbr / 1400 S DuSable Lake Shore Drivebr / Chicago, IL 60605/p p /p pstrongUnion Representation: This position is represented by Field Museum Workers� United, AFSCME Council 31, AFL-CIO./strong/p p /p pstrongPay Range: $18.50/Hourly/strong/p p /p pstrongWe strive to create an inclusive and supportive work environment where team members from all backgrounds can thrive./strong/p p /p pstrongPLEASE READ: *When you apply for multiple positions, please make sure to delete your previous resume and cover letter and upload the latest version of your resume and cover letter that is relevant to the job you are applying for, every time you apply.
