This responsibility includes quality treatment to our patients. This also includes producing quality radiographs of designated portions of the human body, maintain accurate records of the radiographs, and being ever mindful of confidentiality, distribute reports of the examination findings to the patient#39;s provider. The technologist is also responsible for communication with radiologists, physicians, patients, patient#39;s families and other persons; and for performing relief and/or other project duties./pp/ppbuJob Duties and Responsibilities/u/b/pulli*Responsible for the expedient care and compassionate treatment of each patient with whom he/she comes in contact /lili*Position patients accurately with the use of accessory devices as needed; instructs patients on breathing control and selects technical factors which are accurate, compensating accordingly for patient size, age, and mobility./lili*Operate X-Ray and CT equipment according to established health and safety regulations following procedural guides and regulations of this department and SPMC./lili*Perform all clerical procedures to include patient reception, charging, documentation, statistics, report posting and exam sign out procedures./liliOccasional patient scheduling for Mammography, X-Ray, CT, MRI and ultrasound./lili*Utilize sound sterile technique, as required, to prevent contamination and/or cross contamination./lili*Participate in the department#39;s Quality Assurance program and perform assigned Quality Control tasks./lili*Shall maintain patient confidentiality at all times both in the hospital and when off duty./liliShall maintain proficiency in his/her duties through participation in the various continuing education and in-service programs available./lili*Attendance at department meetings and special meetings is required./lili*Required, as part of infection control of the department, to maintain cleanliness of the exam rooms on a daily and weekly basis as defined in the policy for infection control. /liliWill learn and enter patient information into the RIS. /liliSpecial projects and other related duties as assigned./li/ulp *Essential Job Function/ppPRN position/pp/ppbuOrganizational Responsibilities/u/b/ppIn addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, all employees are expected to support the Summit Pacific Medical Center mission, vision and values; comply with SPMC policies and procedures; and conduct themselves in an ethical, professional, respectful, and collaborative manner at all times./pp/ppbuRequired Education and Experience /u/b/pulliGraduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology./liliAt least one year of RT experience, preferred./li/ulp/ppbuRequired Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations/u/b/pulliRegistered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or an equivalent registry as a Rad Tech and CT Tech; required within one year of hire./liliCurrent and unrestricted Radiologic Technologist Certification through the Washington State Department of Health/liliBLS Certification/li/ulp/ppbuRequired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities/u/b/pulliComprehensive working knowledge of radiographic equipment and how to properly care for this equipment. Ability to operate equipment according to established health and safety regulations following all policies, procedural guidelines and regulations./liliWorking knowledge of all basic and special DI procedures performed at Summit Pacific Medical Center (SPMC). Demonstrated ability to adapt exam to address problems of patient care as they arise and make timely and effective decisions to appropriately resolve problems./liliDemonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development, and life stages to meet each patient’s need/liliProficient in the use of current technology, including Microsoft Office products. Ability to learn and effectively operate various computers and software programs, including PACS/RIS. /liliProfessional and effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify and employ communication strategies appropriate to the audience./liliAbility to cultivate effective partnerships and work in collaboration with providers, other health care professionals, managers, and patients. /liliStrong organizational and analytical skills.
