Automotive Technician (Entry Level)

Job Summary:

We’re seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to support engine and vehicle testing for a research institute on the Northwest Side of San Antonio. This role involves monitoring test engines, troubleshooting performance issues, performing maintenance, and ensuring test procedures are followed accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

Observe and monitor engine/vehicle tests using computer-controlled systems
Record and adjust test parameters per procedures
Perform engine tune-ups, fluid changes, injector replacements, and general maintenance
Diagnose engine performance issues using scanners and voltage meters
Conduct fabrication, plumbing, and test stand maintenance
Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications:

✅ 1+ year of automotive experience required
✅ HS Diploma or GED required
✅ Ability to use diagnostic tools, read engine manuals, and recognize engine components
✅ Comfortable working in high noise, heat, and fume environments
✅ Capable of lifting 50 lbs with assistance
✅ Proficiency with hand and power tools

Additional Requirements:

Steel-toed safety shoes required
Valid Drivers License (Motor Vehicle Record) required
