Job Description
NOW HIRING: Welder/Fabricator/Installer – Detention Equipment Construction
We are a specialty Detention Contractor focused exclusively on prison construction and renovation. We’re looking for a skilled Welder/Fabricator/Installer to join our Field Installation Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a niche, high-demand industry, installing detention-grade equipment in both new construction and active correctional facilities.
✅ Applicants must be able to pass a background check.
❌ We do not perform structural steel work.
Responsibilities
Demolition of Existing Equipment
Use cutting torches, grinders, and cut-off wheels to remove old or outdated components.
Safely handle and transport demolition debris out of secure facilities.
Installation of Detention-Grade Metal Products
Move, load, and stage heavy materials in secure areas.
Perform stick welding (SMAW) on carbon steel and 304 stainless steel (14 ga – 1/4").
Grind and clean welds for finished installations.
Security Equipment Installation & Repair
Install and repair detention-grade doors, hardware, glass, furniture, and specialty security products.
Work according to detailed project specifications and site conditions.
Blueprint Reading & Field Modifications
Read and follow blueprints and shop drawings for accurate installs.
Make precise field modifications and measurements as needed.
Qualifications
Proven experience in welding, metal fabrication, or similar trades.
Skilled in stick welding (SMAW) – carbon steel and stainless steel.
Competent with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and schematics.
Physically fit for manual labor, heavy lifting, and working in secure, active job sites.
