Golden Rule specializes in classic car restoration—restomods, protouring, suspension upgrades, and modern customizations—all delivered with precision craftsmanship. We’re expanding and seeking a reliable Lead Automotive Technician to join our dedicated team.

Position Overview

As a Lead Technician, you’ll oversee complex mechanical work, mentor junior technicians, and ensure every restored vehicle meets our high mechanical standards. This role blends expert-level mechanical skills with leadership and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on classic and custom vehicles (e.g., engine swaps, brake conversions, suspension, electrical systems)

• Lead and train junior technicians, organizing work for efficiency and quality

• Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and workflow logs

• Collaborate with shop management to uphold project timelines and client expectations

• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and proper tool usage

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in automotive restoration or advanced mechanical work

• Proficient in diagnostics and hands-on repair; familiarity with classic car systems (LS swaps, air ride, etc.) preferred

• Ability to lead a small team and work independently under pressure

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

• Own basic tools; ASE certifications or equivalent a plus

• Valid driver’s license
