What You'll Do
As a Peer Mentor, you'll be a supportive companion to individuals preparing for discharge from a state-operated mental health facility. You'll offer encouragement, practical support, and resource connections to help them transition smoothly into independent living, and thrive in the community.
You'll work where the support is needed: in the facility, in the client's home, or out in the community. This is a dynamic, people-centered role where no two days are quite the same. If you love helping others and believe recovery is possible for everyone, this role is made for you!

Details You Should Know
- Full-Time, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.
- No supervisory responsibilities
- Must maintain confidentiality per Illinois Mental Health Code
- Must use Paylocity to log attendance
- Must be comfortable working independently and collaboratively

You're a Great Fit If You:
- Have High School Diploma or GED required Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) credential (or are working toward it within the first year).
- Have at least 1 year of experience in mental health, substance use, or social services (internships count!).
- Have personal experience with mental health recovery and want to use it to help others.
- Hold a valid driver's license and can be approved under our insurance.
- Know your way around email, Word, and Excel.
- Are flexible, compassionate, and reliable.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $40,000 per year + additional quarterly productivity bonuses
- Paid Time Off: 11 Vacation days, 12 Holidays days, 3 sick days, 3 personal days
- Illinois Paid Leave: 40 hours (accrued)
