Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

Lapeer area manufacturer of gauges, fixtures, dies and steel and aluminum piping is seeking an Experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team. 1st Shift with overtime, Monday-Friday, 6AM-2:30PM; pay is based on experience, up to 25 per hour. This is not a Facilities Maintenance position. Position requires working knowledge of industrial machinery, repairing and maintaining machinery, electrical repair and maintenance. Job Description: Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities:

-Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical/hydraulic equipment, and buildings.

- Performs preventative maintenance on all machines, tools, equipment, and facilities Inspecting and troubleshooting equipment and systems.

-Rebuilding, repairing, and/or replacing equipment/machinery/parts.

- Communication with management and other departments regarding maintenance issues.

-Perform a variety of electrical, plumbing, and/or carpentry functions.

-Electrical troubleshooting and repair Complete maintenance logs of tasks performed.

-Follow all established safety rules and guidelines May perform other related assignments as needed.

Requirements:

- Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.

- Must be able to communicate clearly to supervision and peers.

-Take instruction from supervisor and from trainer.

- Have interpersonal skills to be able to work in a team atmosphere; display a positive attitude.

- Must have good attendance.

- Must be able to perform basic math: add, subtract, multiply and divide; skilled use of a calculator acceptable.

- Must be able to read a tape measure up to 1/16” increments; display mechanical ability and aptitude.

- Those authorized to perform machine set-ups must perform and install safety features to ensure optimum safety to the employee, operator and equipment.

General Qualifications:

- Normal operations include being able to properly lift and handle parts up to 25lbs consistently throughout an average workday of eight hours.

- Job requires bending, stooping and stretching on a regular basis

- Be flexible in job duty: go from one job to another without difficulty.

- Maintain a clean and organized area; sweep and remove debris; put tools and/or equipment in proper location.
