Star Holdings Group is seeking a motivated and detail-driven Procurement Analyst/Buyer to support our procurement and engineering teams. This position will play a critical role in managing supplier relationships, sourcing materials, and ensuring successful implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) across our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in navigating change management and using Epicor ERP to drive accurate, efficient procurement decisions.

Star Holdings Group is seeking a motivated and detail-driven Procurement Analyst/Buyer to support our procurement and engineering teams. This position will play a critical role in managing supplier relationships, sourcing materials, and ensuring successful implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) across our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in navigating change management and using Epicor ERP to drive accurate, efficient procurement decisions.
Essential Functions
Procurement & Sourcing:
- Source and procure materials, components, and services in alignment with production schedules and inventory targets.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery terms with suppliers.
- Create purchase orders (PO) and communicate with vendors on status, including order acknowledgements, tracking open PO's, resolving receiving and invoicing issues
- Communicate component specifications to vendors, read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Identify best sourcing options, prepare bid requests, vendor negotiation, vendor evaluation and selection, contract terms and conditions
- Highly analytical with proven success utilizing critical problem-solving skills and prioritization, make critical business decisions based on established metrics
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.
- Advise manufacturing of delivery deviations that affect production
Engineering Change Management:
- Act as the primary liaison between Supply Chain and Engineering for all ECNs.
- Evaluate ECNs for impact on cost, lead time, inventory, and supplier capability.
- Ensure timely communication and implementation of ECNs with suppliers.
- Manage disposition of obsolete materials and coordinate rework or replacement of affected inventory.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality to ensure seamless transitions during product or process changes.
- Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and prototype builds by ensuring timely material availability.
- Maintain accurate part master data and supplier records in the ERP system.
- Maximize Epicor MRP/ERP to ensure efficiencies throughout the organization
Cost & Inventory Management:
- Monitor cost trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Manage inventory levels of materials affected by ECNs to minimize scrap and excess.
- Support goals for material flow, inventory level improvements, and ensure competitive lead-times
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment; experience with ECNs required.
- Strong working knowledge of Epicor ERP preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in foodservice equipment or capital goods manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and ISO-based quality systems.
