Tackle Shop Manager

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Store Manager to lead the daily operations of our busy Ship’s Store and Fishing Tackle Shop located in the heart of Montauk. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for fishing, boating, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced, seasonal retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures
• Provide exceptional customer service and product knowledge in fishing tackle and boating supplies
• Manage inventory levels and place orders with vendors
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked retail space
• Supervise and schedule seasonal staff
• Handle point-of-sale transactions and ensure accurate cash handling
• Coordinate with marina and dock staff as needed

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of fishing gear, bait, and techniques (local fishing experience a plus)
• Familiarity with common boating supplies and marine products
• Retail or management experience preferred
• Comfortable with early morning hours (some shifts start at 6:00 AM)
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Able to work longer hours during peak season (May–September)
