Neuberger Berman is seeking a Senior Developer to support the firm’s enterprise data platform initiatives. This individual will play a crucial role in developing, optimizing, and maintaining the firm’s data platform and supporting its broader data and analytics vision. Responsibilities:
+ Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of the firm’s central data marketplace platform, ensuring scalability, performance, reliability, and security to serve enterprise-wide business needs.
+ Architect and build modern, user-friendly, and highly responsive full-stack applications that enable seamless discovery, access, and governance of data assets across the organization.
+ Architect and build event-driven processes such as data subscriptions and distribution.
+ Integrate advanced AI and agentic capabilities (OpenAI, LangChain, LangGraph, etc.) into the platform to power intelligent search, recommendation, automation, and operational intelligence features.
+ Collaborate with the Lead Technologist II to ensure the platform aligns with the firm’s strategic data management vision and technical architecture.
+ Drive the evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies, frameworks, and cloud services to ensure the product remains at the forefront of innovation and delivers differentiated value.
+ Champion software engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and agile development methodologies.
+ Mentor junior engineers and actively contribute to architectural decisions, technical standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
+ Minimum of 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a strong track record of delivering complex, scalable, and high-impact products.
+ Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
+ Deep expertise in full-stack development, including frontend technologies (React, Angular, Vue, or equivalent), backend technologies (Python, Java, Node.js, etc.), and RESTful API design.
+ Proven ability to design and deliver modern software products leveraging distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
+ Experience leveraging modern data and workflow tools such as Airflow, Kafka, Spark, DuckDB, DBT, Dremio, and Postgres
+ Experience integrating advanced AI/ML solutions and frameworks, including OpenAI APIs, agentic architectures, LangChain, LangGraph, MCP, etc.
+ Solid understanding of enterprise data management concepts, including data discovery, governance, access control, and security.
+ Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
+ Highly collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
+ Strong problem-solving skills, with a passion for leveraging new technologies to drive product innovation and operational excellence.

Work Location:
+ This is a hybrid role in our New York office requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in office.

Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $140,000-$175,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
