Job Description

The Technician is directly responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and service of aircraft components, including but not limited to landing gear, flight controls, sheet metal structures, NDT and small part painting, as assigned. This position will perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly, and adjustments of various aircraft systems and structures in compliance with technical specifications.

This position is located at the Kansas City International Airport Area.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities included, but not limited to:
  • Inspect, repair, and overhaul aircraft components and systems as assigned in compliance with specifications and FAA regulations.
  • Troubleshoot system and component malfunctions and perform necessary maintenance work or re-work using various tools and diagnostic devices.
  • Remove and replace defective components
  • Sheet metal inspection and repairs
  • Composite/paint inspection and repairs
  • Maintain all pertinent documentation – logbooks, 8130’s, and historical data as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P Certificate), preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum experience of two (2) years in aircraft maintenance or component work preferred
  • Working knowledge of Federal Air Regulations (FAR’s)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts including nights, holidays and weekends
  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft accessories, components and other hardware.
  • Basic Math and Measurement Skills
  • Mechanical Experience, Preferred; own hand tools helpful
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis
