Driver Mover

Job Summary

As a Driver/Mover for our ProMoves in Ridgewood New Jersey, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transport of our clients' belongings. This role requires excellent driving skills, requires strong physical ability, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling a variety of tasks, have experience in the moving or transportation industry from fragile goods to heavy furniture, and will work well both independently and as part of a team.

Must be able to pass background check and drug testing.

Key Responsibilities

Packing and Moving Duties

· Packing: Carefully pack household goods and office items, ensuring that all items are securely wrapped and protected for transport.

Moving Truck Operation: Safely operate moving trucks to transport goods between locations, adhering to all state and federal driving regulations.

· Loading and Unloading: Load and unload items from moving trucks, ensuring that all items are handled with care to prevent damage.

· Furniture Assembly/Disassembly: Assemble and disassemble furniture as needed for transport.
Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of items being moved, including condition reports and inventory lists.

· Customer Service: Client Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns or special requests from clients in a professional manner.

· Communication: Maintain clear communication with clients regarding the status of their move and any changes to the schedule. Safety and Compliance:

· Safety Protocols: Follow all safety protocols during driving, packing, loading, and unloading to ensure the safety of both the crew and the clients' belongings. Ensure trucks are maintained and inspected regularly for mechanical issues.

· Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all moving equipment is in good working condition and report any issues to the General Manager.

Qualifications

• · Experience: Must have at least 2 year previous experience in the household goods moving industry.
• · Physical Ability: Ability to lift and move heavy items, sometimes up and down stairs.
• · Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• · Customer Service: Strong customer service skills with a focus on professionalism and client satisfaction.
• · Problem Solving: Quick thinker with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
• Documentation: Complete and maintain accurate paperwork, including delivery logs, inventory lists, and customer satisfaction forms.

• Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience in driving, ideally in the moving or transportation industry. CDL preferred but not required.
• Driving Skills: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Experience driving box trucks or larger moving vehicles is a plus.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with GPS tracking and routing systems.
• Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Customer Service: Strong customer service skills with a focus on professionalism and client satisfaction.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift and move heavy items as part of moving duties.

Work Environment

· Hours: This role may require early morning, evening, and weekend availability to accommodate customer moving schedules.

This Driver/ Mover position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work and providing excellent customer service, contributing to the success of a startup moving company in New Jersey.

  Pay: $20.00 - 25.00 per hour

  Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
