Mechanic – Production
Location: Council Bluffs, Iowa
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
Schedule: Full-time, 1st Shift (Monday–Friday)
Join a dynamic team in the metal manufacturing industry! We’re seeking a skilled Mechanic to support production by maintaining and repairing equipment, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality output.
Job Summary: As a Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for troubleshooting, performing teardowns and setups, completing work orders, and participating in planned maintenance. You’ll ensure equipment runs efficiently while upholding safety, GMP, and quality standards.
️ Key Responsibilities:
• Perform equipment teardowns, setups, and start-up checks
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and complete corrective work orders
• Replace parts (motors, gearboxes, hoses, etc.) and make minor line adjustments
• Clean and lubricate equipment per standards
• Complete reports and audits (PMs, Work Orders, Centerline, BOS)
• Support production line drumbeats and participate in team activities
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED (Technical School preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance or related experience
• Strong mechanical knowledge: pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, welding, machining, electrical
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work scheduled shifts/overtime
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills
• LOTO/PIT certified; knowledge of GMPs, MSDS, and safety protocols
• Basic computer and math skills
