Position Summary

Carmichael Development is seeking an Estimator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for sitework projects, utilizing industry-leading software and best practices to support our project development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for sitework projects including earthwork, utilities, paving, and site improvements
• Utilize Agtek software for takeoff measurements and quantity calculations
• Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure comprehensive understanding of scope
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project conditions
• Collaborate with project managers and field personnel to validate estimates and incorporate historical cost data
• Maintain updated cost databases and unit pricing for estimating accuracy
• Prepare bid proposals and present estimates to management and clients
• Support value engineering efforts and alternative solution development
• Monitor market conditions and material costs to ensure competitive pricing

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in sitework estimating
• Proficiency with Agtek software and Procore
• Strong understanding of sitework construction methods and materials
• Experience reading and interpreting civil engineering plans and specifications
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred, although not required
