Interventional Radiology Tech

MedStar Shah MSO, a proud member of MedStar Health, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our outpatient team in Waldorf, MD. Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including vascular and body interventions.
• Operate and maintain fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and other imaging equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety.
• Prepare and manage sterile fields, contrast materials, and specialized interventional supplies.
• Monitor patients during procedures, utilizing equipment such as EKG monitors, IV pumps, and pulse oximeters.
• Document procedures accurately in electronic medical records, adhering to regulatory standards.
• Maintain compliance with radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R.T.).
• Post-primary certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) preferred or obtained within 24 months of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in interventional radiology or a related field.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency in sterile techniques, radiation safety, and interventional imaging equipment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
