Buyer

Wood Personnel is seeking a Temporary MRO Buyer to support our facility’s purchasing needs on a contract basis. This role is hands-on and will own the end-to-end procurement process for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies and indirect materials. The assignment is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, operate independently, and keep things moving without needing long onboarding or oversight.

Compensation of the Buyer:

• Temporary Assignment
• $26 to $28 an hour
• Benefits available

Responsibilities of the Buyer:

• Source and purchase MRO supplies and materials to support ongoing production and facility maintenance.
• Collaborate with internal teams (maintenance, engineering, production) to determine part requirements and resolve supply issues.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of critical items.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities by evaluating alternate suppliers or products.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records in the ERP system and track order status.
• Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Communicate with vendors to address delivery timelines, pricing, and product availability.
• Support documentation needs and help maintain supplier files and records.

Requirements of the Buyer:

• Bachelor Degree, preferred
• Previous experience a plus as a buyer
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong organization and documentation skills
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Self-starter with ability to work independently or in a team
• Ability to "think outside the box" and propose new ideas and solutions
• Ability to work in Microsoft suite programs, SAP knowledge a plus
• Understanding of machinery or mechanical components a plus
