MECHANICAL ENGINEER

MECHANICAL ENGINEER (Waste Water experience)
MOBILE, AL

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university
• 5-10 years’ experience practicing as a mechanical engineer
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience working with computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Superior computer skills; well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly strong with Word and Excel)
• Extensive knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM), finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
• Able to create 2-D or 3-D designs
• Extensive knowledge in the design and operation of different pumping applications (submersible, suction lift, vertical turbine, flooded suction, etc.)
• Able to provide leadership or mentorship among team members; provide support and encourages collaboration

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze mechanical devices for problems
• Recommend design changes, cost reductions, warranty improvements, and identify manufacturing issues
• Work with marketing and vendors, providing product specifications for their use
• Oversee all required engineering qualification tests on project; ensure compliance with all outside parties involved
• Write product specifications, document test results, prepare product operating instructions and review technical literature
• Participate in pilot studies, system start-ups, or field installations
• Analyze processes, design and implement improvements

OR Waste Water Process Engineer (preferred)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform assignments requiring application of standard process calculations, techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks related to wastewater treatment process design and construction administration activities.
• Perform wastewater treatment plant site investigations, data collection and analysis activities
• Prepare technical memoranda, and contribute to preliminary and detailed design reports
• Prepare permitting applications for local regulatory agencies
• Participate in wastewater engineering/process design activities including preparation of design calculations, equipment sizing and selection, process layouts, engineering specifications and cost estimates
• Work collaboratively on multidisciplinary design teams and assist with design coordination tasks
• Participate in contract administration services during the construction of wastewater infrastructure and facilities
• Assist in commissioning activities related to wastewater treatment process start-up
