Instructs and guides patients through functional activities, such as bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance activities. Works under minimal supervision and may mentor and train staff on technical skills./p pJob Requirements:/p div pEducation and Work Experience:/p ul liHigh School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred/li liAssociate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred/li liTwo years' technical experience: Preferred/li liExperience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit and/or out patient setting: Preferred/li /ul /div div pLicenses/Certifications:/p ul liPhysical Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of practice: Required/li liCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required/li liValid Driver's License (DL) and must be at least 21 years of age or older: Required/li liPhysical Therapist Assistant (PTA): Required/li liBasic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) or RQIBLS or Heartsaver CPR (CPR): Required/li /ul /div div pEssential Functions:/p ul liPerforms physical therapy treatments, including the use of modalities, manual techniques and common exercise techniques. Instructs and guides patients through functional activities, such as bed mobility, transfers and gait and balance activities./li liObserves and follows treatment precautions as identified by physical therapists, nurses or physicians. Observes for changes in patient responses and reports changes to nurses and physical therapists in charge./li liProvides daily and timely patient chart documentation of interventions and services provided in the acute care setting. Documents employee and out-patient treatments, as necessary./li liProvides education and training to patients and caregivers, while incorporating learning style preferences.
