pemThe starting rate for this role is $38.80. Every employee under the Joint Crafts Council wage scale, on first appointment, will receive the first step of the salary range for the position. Employees will advance to the second step at the start of the pay period after their one-year anniversary in the job classification and each milestone thereafter (3 years, 6 years, 11 years, and 17 years of service) with Step 6 being the maximum pay rate./em/p

listrongHave A Creative Mind:/strong You have a strong artistic background with creative problem-solving skills./li
listrongFabrication Experience:/strong You have fabrication abilities in all mediums (e.g. wood, metal, concrete, fiberglass, plastics, and composites)./li
listrongProficient in drawing:/strong You are proficient in drawing and drafting are able to communicate concepts and design and produce working drawings./li
listrongLove variety in your workday:/strong You work both indoors and outdoors carrying out a variety of tasks with new projects popping up frequently./li

pstrongYOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/strong/p
ul
li
pOperates computer and related software to prepare signage layout./p
/li
li
pOperates current Ioline smart trac sign cutter to prepare vinyl graphics used in the fabrication of signs/p
/li
li
pPrepares various substrates for and executes the application of vinyl and adhesive print graphics./p
/li
li
pOperates a service cart and a variety of equipment for the production, construction, maintenance, repair, alterations, and installation of signage./p
/li
li
pManages the Sign shops tool collection and supplies such as: animal artifacts, seasonal signs, plastics, banners, illustrations, sign hardware, and back-up sign frames./p
/li
li
pPerforms inventory of all Sign Shop content./p
/li
li
pParticipates in ordering materials and supplies./p
/li
li
pResearch existing and new materials and technology for the construction of signage/p
/li
li
pAssist in preparing and finalizing schematic designs / documents for interpretive signs and interactives, and fabricate elements as needed./p
/li
li
pPerforms construction, maintenance, repair or alteration work related to exhibit signage./p
/li
li
pPerform other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned./p

pstrongPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/strong/p
ul
liAutoCAD or other drawing program experience./li
liFamiliarity with electrical, sound and video technologies applicable to displays./li
/ul

pstrongQUALIFICATIONS/strong/p

liBachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience./li
liAbility to work independently while maintaining organizational consistency with both physical materials and digital elements./li
liProficient with Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Word, and Excel/li
liSuccessful applicants must live and work in Washington State to perform this role./li
liApplicants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid WA driver's license with a safe driving history./li
