Our MAs collaborate with physicians and non-clinical staff to assure we are providing our community with comprehensive and compassionate health care./pp/ppb POSITION OVERVIEW: /bThe bMedical Assistant/b will be responsible for daily patient flow for each respective physician for whom they work. Must use triage skills to gather information from which designated staff can make appropriate patient health assessments and to anticipate physician#39;s needs as they relate to the patients#39; medical care./pp/ppThis position does not manage any other caregivers./pdivp/p/divp/ppbESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES: /b/pp/ppEscorts patients to exam rooms and prep for physician assessment./pp/ppRecords and maintains patient#39;s medical data in patient#39;s medical chart./pp/ppAssists physician with answering phone requests from patients and/or other medical professionals and institutions./pp/ppPerforms a variety of physician-requested ancillary and/or surgical patient procedures. (This excludes the administration of IV medication.)/pp/ppMaintains equipment, instruments supply inventory levels./pp/ppSupports the vision, mission, and values of the organization in all respects./pp/ppSupports Lean principles of continuous improvement with energy and enthusiasm, functioning as a champion of change./pp/ppProvides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests./pp/ppConducts all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality. Working knowledge of medical practice management information systems. Basic knowledge of physician office documentation standards. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and meet all HIPAA requirements./ppThose candidates with NHA certification that qualified due to work experience rather than graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting Program will be required to have one (1) year of experience in Medical Assisting./ppbPreferred: /bTwo (2) years of Medical Assisting experience./pdivp/p/divp/ppbPERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: /b/pp/ppMust be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely./pdivp/p/divdivp/p/divpbPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:/b/pdivpContinually (75% or more): Standing and walking, keyboard operation, use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level./ppFrequently (50%): Sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 1-25 pounds.
