Apprentice Bartender - Part-time

pbspanWHAT YOU’LL DO/span/b/ppThe primary responsibility of the Apprentice Bartender is to assist the Bartender in maintaining the appearance by stocking, keeping the bar area clean and organized. The Apprentice is also responsible for performing tasks to assist the Bartender providing excellent service to all guests who approach the bar and other various duties in timely manner./pp/ppbspanROLE EXPECTATIONS/span/b/ppspanResponsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:/span/pullipAcknowledges, greets, and converses with customers who approach the bar./p/lilipCleans and stock bar area, including bar tops, sinks, glasses, refrigerators, and other bar appliances throughout and at the end of the shift./p/lilipWhen needed, prepare, and pour all types of drinks for customers and cocktail servers upon request./p/lilipProcesses room charges, credit card and cash transactions while presenting customer with bar receipt./p/lilipEnsures ashtrays, bar top, bar stools and bar menus are clean and organized./p/lilipCut fruits and prepare garnishes for each open well./p/lilipMaintain clean work environment in accordance with SNHD guidelines./p/lilipMaintain par levels by placing orders, as necessary./p/lilipChange and clean bibs behind the bars when needed./p/lilipMake sure the glasswasher is working properly and keep it clean during and prior to the end of the shift. Check dishwasher for proper chemical maintenance./p/lilipMaintain soap and paper towels in the hand sinks./p/lilipContinuously monitoring bar to ensure that guests are receiving beverage service on a timely matter./p/lilipCalls a designated slot employee when needed by a guest or bartender./p/lilipCollects all trash from their assigned bar as well wiping down walls behind it./p/lilipPerform other job-related duties as requested by management./p/li/ulp/ppbspanSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES/span/b/pullipspanThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities. /span/p/li/ulp/ppbspanREQUIREMENTS/span/b/pullipAt least 21 years of age./p/lilipMust have knowledge of beverages, glassware, and garnishes./p/lilipWork requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner./p/lilipMust present a neat and professional appearance./p/lilipWork requires 6 months prior Bartender or Bar Apprentice experience./p/lilipWork requires at least 1-year previous money handling position./p/lilipWork requires interactions with customers, the public and co-workers./p/lilipWork requires teamwork with other staff members./p/lilipWork requires the ability to accurately count money and provide change./p/lilipWork requires schedule flexibility which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed./p/lilipAdhere to all company policies, regulatory and federal laws./p/li/ulp/ppbspanPREFERRED/span/b/pullipWork requires at least 6 months of previous Bar Apprentice / Barback experience./p/li/ulp/ppbCERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS/b/pullipMust be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations, such as: TAM card, health card, and non-gaming card./p/li/ulp/ppbPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/b/pullipMust be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines./p/lilipMust be accurate and detail oriented./p/lilipMust regularly lift and/move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces./p/li/ulp/ppbWORKING CONDITIONS/b/pullipWork is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as noise, dust, and smoke./p/li/ulp/ppbPAY RANGE/b/pullipThe pay range for this position is $15.76/hour./p/li/ulp/ppiRio Las Vegas is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
