Join us in providing/spanspan exceptional healthcare services and making a difference in our communities. /span/span/divdiv/divpbRESPONSIBILITIES/b/pulliIndependently and accurately perform routine and complex molecular testing, including DNA/RNA extraction and PCR/liliReview preliminary and final test results./liliAssist in resolution of technical problems in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures./liliRecord, compile and maintain records according to laboratory policies to ensure state and federal regulations are upheld for all reagents, procedures, and equipment used in the testing process./liliAssist in the development, evaluation, and implementation of new procedures and protocols./liliMaintain patient confidentiality./liliCoordinate daily communications of laboratory with physicians and other parties./liliParticipate in educational activities./liliPerform other related work as required/li/ulp/ppbCLIA QUALIFICATIONS (42 CFR 493.1489)/b/pulliDoctoral, master’s, or bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or Physics./liliAssociate’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical lab technology./li/ululliEducational equivalent to Associate’s degree with at least:ulli60 semester hours including 24 semester hours of medical lab technology;/li/ul/li/ulpbOR/b/pulli60 semester hours including 24 hours of science that includes 6 hours chemistry, 6 hours biology, and 12 hours chemistry, biology, medical technology in any combination;/li/ulpbAND/b/pulli3 months training in each specialty in which high complexity testing is performed./li/ulp/ppbADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/b/pulli1-2 two years of experience in a molecular CLIA licensed clinical laboratory/liliMedical Technologist board certification preferred/liliAbility to read and comprehend English and follow instructions/liliGood communication and critical thinking skills/liliUnderstanding of statistics/liliAbility to creatively think under pressure and handle high stress levels, changing environments, and possible irregular work hours/liliAbility to recognize potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and/or hazardous chemicals in the workplace and execute safety protocols in the event of exposure or spill/liliMust be able to demonstrate competency for all required diagnostic tests and other areas of assignment within 3 months of hire date/li/ulp/ppbWORKING CONDITIONS/b/pulliPossible exposure to bloodborne pathogens/liliPossible exposure to hazardous chemicals/li/ulp/ppbPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/b/pulliAbility to climb stairs, lift 35lbs, sit or stand for long periods, and walk/bend down/liliVisual and auditory acuity and good eye/hand coordination/li/ulp/ppbDIRECT REPORTING/b/pulliReports to the Lab Supervisor/li/ulp/pp/ppPay starting at 25/hr/p
