In addition, the preparation of examination and treatment rooms, performing basic and routine vision screening examinations, administering eye medications, cleaning, and maintaining ophthalmic instruments and assisting physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures may be required. Travel to other locations may also be necessary to support clinical needs./span/p
Responsibilities:
ullispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Make introductions and establish rapport with patients/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Initiate patient evaluation, documenting the chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, and all pertinent ocular findings accurately and in accordance with compliance guidelines./span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Perform pre-exam testing to include visual acuity assessment, including pinhole and glare testing, confrontational visual field testing, assess extra ocular muscles, pupillary evaluation, tonometry, assess angles, pupillary dilation, and all other patient services as requested by the physician including specialty tests such as color vision screening, stereopsis, and dry eye testing/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Perform lensometry and specialized testing such as visual fields, keratometry, A/B scans, and ophthalmic photography optical coherence tomography (OCT), and optical biometry /span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Additional testing as requested by doctor/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Perform retinoscopy and refractometry. Assist with minor surgical procedures or laser treatments in the office/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Assist with fitting contact lenses and instruct patients in care and insertion of lenses/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Complete requests for prescription refills as authorized by physician, with full documentation in patient chart/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Educate patients regarding administration of medications and pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by physician/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Check temperature of medical refrigerator daily/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Maintain and conduct inventory of medications and supplies/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Assist with maintenance of clinical examination equipment/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Clean surgical instruments in preparation for sterile processing/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Inspect instruments periodically for damage, send for repair, and request a replacement, as necessary/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Open and close exam lanes daily, ensuring that equipment is wiped down in an appropriate manner and as per office procedures, battery powered instruments are seated properly in re-charge wells, slit lamps and projectors are switched off under covers/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Follow all safety procedures as per guidelines/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Prioritize building and maintaining a positive relationship with doctors and clinical colleagues/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Executes duties of position in a professional and courteous manner/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner/span/lilispan style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"Perform other tasks and duties as assigned/span/li/ul
Qualifications:
