American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in San Antonio, TX, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and active fetal monitoring certification.
Details- Labor & Delivery unit within the Women's Pavilion of a hospital setting in San Antonio, TX
- Procedures performed include vaginal deliveries and Caesarean sections
- Fetal monitors are the primary equipment used on the unit
- Documentation is performed in Meditech/CPN; Meditech experience is preferred
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Rotating weekend requirement
- Floating is required as needed
- No on-call requirements
- 13-week contract
- Active TX RN license required; temporary licenses will not be accepted (compact license not accepted — TX license only)
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP (Advanced 9th Edition from the American Academy of Pediatrics)
- Intermediate or Advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring certification required (NCCEFM also accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
- Applies nursing process, critical thinking, and clinical judgment to independently deliver safe patient care
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to achieve quality patient outcomes
- Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, and serves as a resource to the patient care team
- Required scrub color for RNs: navy scrub top and pants, with a navy or white scrub jacket
- Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited; body art should be covered whenever possible
- Hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors; beards and facial hair must be neatly trimmed
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must sign a Methodist Acknowledgement Form and adhere to facility attendance and floating policies
