Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center in New York, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and night shift availability.

  • Works in a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department within a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
  • \n
  • Patient population includes a wide range of emergency presentations including trauma, neurological, orthopedic, respiratory, behavioral health, burns, and critical care cases
  • \n
  • Handles advanced clinical procedures including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV placement, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and ventilated patient management
  • \n
  • Patient ratio is 1:5
  • \n
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • \n
  • Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends per 4-week schedule)
  • \n
  • Uses Epic for documentation, Pyxis for medication management, and SBAR for communication
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active NY RN license required
  • \n
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
  • \n
  • Preferred certifications: CPI and TCAR
  • \n
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • \n
  • Experience in a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center required
  • \n
  • Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
  • \n
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • \n
  • 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
  • \n
  • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
  • \n

  • Orientation is 24 hours, conducted on night shift
