Long Term Medical Billing Clerk needed for the Revenue/Billing department in Queens.

Minimum of at least 1 year Medical Billing experience required.

As a Medical Billing Clerk, you will play a key role in the Revenue/Billing department. Your work will directly impact the processing of claims and reimbursements, ensuring that healthcare providers are compensated accurately and on time. You'll be responsible for entering and managing data with precision, navigating payer rules, and resolving claim denials to support our mission of delivering quality care.

Location: Briarwood, Queens, NY
Work Schedule: M-F (9am-5pm) - On site
Pay Range: $23/hr

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Heavy data entry
  • Perform data entry by transferring information from the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system to the medical billing system.
  • Must be familiar with Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, etc.
  • Submit insurance claims and follow up on claims processing through clearinghouses.
  • Monitor and resolve claim denials from Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, and other payers.
  • Verify patient eligibility and coverage across various providers and insurers.
  • Stay up-to-date with payer rules and provider requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Work closely with other departments to resolve billing issues and ensure smooth payment workflows.
  • Perform other clerical duties as needed to support the billing department's operations.
  • Completing and verifying ICD-10 coding
  • Customer service
  • Maintaining all payment records in database system


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of at least 1-year Medical Billing experience required.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, and Managed Care payer rules.
  • Experience with claims submission and denial response processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
  • Knowledge of clearinghouse procedures and eligibility checks.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in medical billing or healthcare administration preferred.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team
