Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers an opportunity to provide specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students in a middle school setting. As an itinerant teacher, the role involves traveling between schools within the district to deliver tailored education services for students in grades K-12. The district fosters a supportive environment, prioritizing inclusive education and professional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instructional services to visually impaired students across K-12.
- Develop and implement educational plans that address each student's unique needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to ensure student success.
- Provide training and resources to staff on visual impairment awareness and acmodations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and program effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Active certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Certification valid in South Carolina or another state.
- Experience working with students who have visual impairments is preferred.
- Strong munication and organizational skills.
- Ability and willingness to be itinerant within the school district.
