Gastroenterology Physician

We are seeking a board-certified Gastroenterologist to support long-term coverage at Community Hospital South. This is a general GI hospitalist model with no EUS or ERCP required. The position is ideal for physicians who can commit to a 7-on/7-off schedule and are comfortable with inpatient GI consults and procedures.

• Daily rounding on 10+ patients
• Perform standard inpatient GI procedures (upper and lower endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG, biopsies, etc.
• Address 4 5 admissions per day
• Handle 2 3 phone consults during call
• Beeper call coverage (week-on/week-off rotation)
• No overnight call backs expectedBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
• Active Indiana medical license (required)
• Fellowship in Gastroenterology (required)
• ACLS & BLS certified
• Clean malpractice and background history
• 90-day credentialing windowDaily shift: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM (may end earlier depending on patient load)
• Week-long call with 30-minute response time
• Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, variceal injection, foreign body removal, cautery)
• Colonoscopy (with biopsy and polyp excision)
• PEG tube placement
• Small bowel and liver biopsies
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR

Support Staff:

• 3 RNs, 3 MAs, 1 PA/NP, 2 office staff

• Anesthesia/MAC available

• No supervision of APPs required
