Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
· Greet individuals entering the establishment, determine the nature and purpose of visit.
· Answer telephone as first point of contact for the district. Respond to inquiries or direct calls to appropriate personnel.
· Take payments for water bills in person or on the phone.
· Maintain cash drawer daily, replenish and maintain petty cash drawer as needed.
· Pickup mail from local P.O. Box, sort and distribute mail and other correspondence.
· Manage general email and voicemail.
· Maintain board room and office supplies for the district.
· Schedule meter pit installs and inspections.
· Secure office after each working day.
· Manage all mass mailings.
· Administer shutoffs and send delinquent notices for past due accounts.
· Utility Billing – Learn customized billing program for water bills.
· Monitor and respond to incoming messages on Water Smart.
· Assist with meter reading previews monthly.
· Responsible for office tasks such as scanning, filing, running errands, maintaining cleanliness of office common areas and board room.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
1. Must be at least 18 years old at time of hire.
2. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
3. Must have one (1) year direct experience in an Administrative Assistant or Receptionist position
4. Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license and reliable transportation.
5. Must successfully pass a criminal and driving background check and drug screen.
6. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate the English language both verbally and in writing. Spanish language skills desired.
7. Must possess working knowledge of composing and writing correspondence, developing reports, standard operating procedures, and formulating spreadsheets.
8. Must be proficient in the operation of standard office equipment such as a computer, fax machine, copier, printer, and telephone.
9. Must be proficient in the operation Microsoft Office.
10. Must possess strong grammar and math skills.
11. Must possess the flexibility to consistently prioritize changing needs and multiple tasks.
12. Must be willing to obtain knowledge and understanding of the district’s operations and water distribution operations.
13. Must be able to exercise independent judgement, not be reluctant to ask questions, and perform tasks with minimal supervision.
14. Must be able to work well with others, have an ability to multi-task, possess flexibility and a good attitude, and function as a member of a team.

1. Stand and walk or sit alternatively depending on the specific needs of the day. Estimate 75% of time is spent sitting at a desk and 25% on feet.

3. Constant need to perform the following physical activities: writing/typing, grasping/turning, and finger dexterity.
4. Lifting/carrying less than 25 pounds frequently.
5. Vision requirements: constant need to read manuals, reports, contracts, complete forms, and view computer screen.
6. Hearing requirements: constant need to communicate over telephone and in person.
7. Need to perform standing and walking activities relating to mail, form distribution, and filing.
