Position: Building Operating Engineer
ABOUT THE POSITION
ATG Entertainment is seeking a full-time Facilities Manager to oversee and coordinate all building facilities and maintenance operations. This position requires hands-on work, proactive problem-solving, and collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained venue.
Note: As designated landmark venues, all facilities and maintenance work must comply with local historic preservation and landmark regulations.
Hourly Rate: $41.41 per hour
Schedule: Guaranteed 40 hours/week – must work 6 days per week, including holidays and weekends. Overtime may be available but is not guaranteed.
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Building Operating Engineer to join our team, responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our facility’s mechanical, electrical, and building systems. You will be working in our landmark theaters, interacting with the public, supporting live performances, and ensuring all building systems run smoothly for shows and events. This position requires hands-on technical ability, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Required Certifications
• S-12 Citywide Sprinkler Certificate
• S-13 Citywide Standpipe Certificate
• S-95 Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems
• Q-99/Q-01 Refrigeration Operating Engineer License
Minimum Qualifications
• At least 1 year of experience as a building operating engineer or in a similar role.
• Must join Local 30 Union within 60 days of hire.
• Experience with BMS (Building Management Systems) and HVAC operations, including heating systems.
• Basic experience in minor plumbing, electrical work, and general building maintenance.
• Hands-on troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Must be a team player with strong communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a public setting and during live show operations.
Work Schedule
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday: 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Monday: Typically scheduled day off – subject to change based on show schedules.
Responsibilities
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, BMS, plumbing, and electrical.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and certification requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
• Support show operations by ensuring all building systems are functioning properly during performances.
• Interact professionally with the public, production teams, and other staff members.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain optimal building performance.
