  • Technicians are required to provide their basic tools to perform routine maintenance and repairs of equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to perform under limited supervision.
  • Ability to work from ladders or raised platforms
  •  2 or more years of relevant work
  • Performs repairs by OSHA. (Occupational and Safety Health Act) requirements.
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspection (PM); diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components including but not limited to balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, compressors, trash compactors, motors, wire tie systems, fans, pumps.
  • Maintains DEI (Daily Equipment Inspections)
  • Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and advises the Plant Maintenance Manager if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within the Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Requires a flexible work schedule, including weekends when required.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with clear analytical thought, taking into account multiple factors and tradeoffs.
  • Ability to analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Ability to clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Ability to examine parts for defects, such as breakage and excessive wear.
  • Ability to observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions using voltmeters and other testing devices.
  • Ability to operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
  • Ability to understand blueprints and manufacturers’ manuals to determine the correct installation and operation of machinery.
  • Ability to cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
  • Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators
  • Ability to enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery.
  • Ability to perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and performs all work by established safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to lift or carry up to 100 lbs
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and written.
  • Must be able to remain in stationary, standing, or sitting positions for prolonged periods.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
