- Knowledgeable or able to learn structural steel fabrication practices.
- Develop and prepare design sketches for review.
- Create organized Part numbers, details, dimenions, quantites, materials, procedures and revisions for manufacturing and assembly.
- Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by drafting supervisor and project manager.
- Check and verify that design drawings conform to specifications and design data.
- Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
- Ability to identify and deal proactively with work-related problems.
- Trouble shoot manufacturing problems and provide solution(s) in a timely manner.
- Able to carry out mathematical equations with various units of measurement using algebra and trigonometry.
- Must be able to take a project from start to finish with moderate supervision.
- Must be able to form acceptable working relationships with project managers.
- Effectively manage time independently to maintain project schedules.
- Communicates and provides regular progress reports to the Drafting Manager.
- Prompt and dependable attendance.
- Responsible for ensuring hours are logged to the proper job and task.
- Is willing to accept diverse challenges and perform the job or task at the highest level of professionalism.
- Provide a safe working environment around his/her department; enforce all the safety rules and procedures.
Qualification/Requirements:

· Preferred education, associate’s degree CAD certificate or equivalent.
· Proficient in Autocad 2D. Autocad 3D modeling is a plus.
· Creatively turn plans and ideas into technical drawings that will guide the creation of those ideas.
· Must have working knowledge with processes for metal fabrication and welding industry.
· Computer literacy with wide-ranging software especially in Email, MS Office and MS Excel software.
· Ability to understand the ramifications of design and project modifications to dermine the feasiblity of the change.
· Good oral/written communication skills.
· Ability to properly handle confidential information and records.
· Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
· Ability to give clear verbal directions also have good grammar, voice and diction skills.
· Customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful)
