Nurse Manager/ Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery / Step-Down Unit / RN

Join Emory Healthcare as a Nurse Manager in our Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Step-Down Unit.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to oversee our 24-bed 8E Unit and 12-bed Rollins Pavilion. The 8E unit provides specialized care for patients with complex pulmonary, vascular, and cardiac conditions, including those pre- or post-lung transplant. It is a primary telemetry unit with staff skilled in cardiac rhythm interpretation and antiarrhythmic medication administration. Located within the Heart & Vascular division, the unit excels in patient satisfaction and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical and operational functions to ensure seamless patient care across the continuum.
• Manage staff, drive clinical practice development, and oversee patient care delivery.
• Accountable for team performance, quality, safety, compliance, financials, throughput, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and evaluate systems promoting high-quality, cost-effective, and safe care.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and accountability.
• Provide education, coaching, and guidance to staff, supporting professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required.
• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in acute or ambulatory care, with 2 years in leadership roles.
• Valid RN license in Georgia; multistate license if overseeing virtual care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS may be required based on specialty.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing preferred.
• 5+ years of nursing experience with 3+ years in leadership within a complex academic health system.
• Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC, NEA-BC) or similar preferred.
