Lead Member Service Representative - Float Shelton/Bridgeport (Bilingual Spanish/English Required)

GENERAL FUNCTION
Responsible for ensuring service and operational excellence of the branch’s Member Service function. Lead the Member Service Team in delivering service excellence and achieving sales and operational goals. Responsible for ensuring the security and accountability of all cash and negotiable items.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Oversee the daily operations of the branch and the activities of front line Member Service staff.
- Coach subordinates to ensure that the Member Service staff is demonstrating the required level of service excellence, product knowledge, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Responsible for opening and closing the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.
- Balance vault, ATM, branch and all other end of day work.
- Proactively educate members on utilizing available access channels (i.e., ATM, WEBLINE, Telephone and Mobile banking)
- Transform service transactions to sales opportunities according to customer need and refer opportunities to partners (i.e., Mortgage/MFS) where appropriate.
- Significantly contribute to achievement of branch goals and overall business success.
- Participate in various community functions to help promote the Credit Union’s branding and community roots.
- Maintain expertise to reliably provide Member Service staff with accurate answers to product, policy and procedural questions and resolve account discrepancies.
- Maintain vault cash and other negotiable items as necessary to service member needs.
- Maintain adequate levels of supplies, including checks, receipts, money orders, traveler checks, and envelopes.
- Process and maintain certificates and IRAs on a daily basis.
- Process payroll deductions and file maintenance on general accounts.
- Supervise status changes on member accounts.
- Escalate equipment, staff, or member problems appropriately.
- For the purpose of maintaining Credit Union goals, it is the responsibility of each employee to strive for the continuous quality improvement of processes and quality of service to internal and external customers.
- Abide by all federal, state, and local laws including but not limited to: The Bank Secrecy Act, including the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN); Uniform Commercial Code (UCC); Federal Reserve Bank; and National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High school education plus additional training and experience equivalent to two years of college.
- Two years’ experience as a MSR/teller in a credit union, financial institution, or other cashier function, with minimum of one year in a supervisory role.
- Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills; leadership, conflict-resolution and problem-solving.
- Proven judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and good mathematical skills.
- Proficient in computer skills and operation of general office machines.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ABILITIES
- Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
- Sitting the majority of the time.
- The ability to occasionally lift, push, pull or carry up to 10 pounds.
- Occasional bending, squatting, twisting, climbing, reaching above, at or below shoulder level, and kneeling.
- The ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy.
- The ability to effectively interact with all personality types in stressful situations.
- Excellent ability to communicate effectively.
- Occasional travel required.
