Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.p style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:inherit"/ppbspanGeneral Purpose and Scope of the position:/span /b/ppThe adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School./pp/ppbMajor Responsibilities/b/ppPROGRAM OPERATION: Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes. Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follow syllabus content and requirements. Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook. Submits requested information within established timelines./pp/ppSTUDENTS: Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance. Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with the program coordinator to resolve issues./pp/ppINSTRUCTION: Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate. In the event of an emergency absence, notify the program/department chair. Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote the same as an integral part of one#39;s work./pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:inherit"/ppbMinimum Qualifications:/b/ppMust have a strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction, and faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction./ppA qualified faculty member meets the program standard through one of five routes: /pulliPossesses an earned master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in accounting; or /liliPossesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documented 18 post-secondary semester hours or equivalent of courses in accounting beyond the introductory principle(s) level; or /liliPossesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following: ulliDocumented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEUs, vendor, military; or /liliDocumentation of research and publication in the field /liliDocumented evidence of teaching excellence, including the date of the award /liliThree years of in-field professional employment /liliIn-field professional certification (national, regional, or state)/li/ul/liliPossesses an earned bachelor’s degree in accounting, from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following: ulliIn-field professional certification (national, regional, or state) /liliTwo years of in-field professional employment /liliDocumented evidence of teaching excellence, including the date of the award /liliDocumentation of research and publication in the field /liliDocumented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEUs, vendor, or military. /li/ul/liliPossesses an earned Bachelor’s degree in a related business field from a regionally accredited institution with an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification. /li/ulp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:left"spanIvy Tech Community College is an accredited, equal spanspan class="WLU2"opportunity/affirmative/span/span action employer.
