As an essential member of the patient care team, the Medical Assistant will provide both administrative and clinical support to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic. This position also offers the opportunity to be cross trained in patient registration and medical records support, as needed./p pstrongESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:/strong/p ul liLive and exemplify TOI core values, providing outstanding customer service and promoting a positive experience for patients and staff members./li liParticipate in company initiatives and team activities/li liResponsible for documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) system(s)/li liRequesting external medical records and preparing patient charts prior to patient appointments/li liPerforming and documenting patient vital signs/li liCompleting review of systems and intake documentation/li liPreparing patients for physician care/li liAdministering basic first aid/li liPerforming venipunctures and non-intravenous injections/li liPerforming basic laboratory procedures/li liObserving and reporting patients’ signs or symptoms/li liAble to serve as a chaperone in patient examinations as needed/li liAssisting with patient examinations, procedures, or treatments/li liAdministering certain medications as directed by the physician/li liOther duties as assigned/li /ul pstrongKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:/strong/p ul liProficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems./li liExcellent interpersonal and communication skills./li liStrong organizational and multitasking abilities./li liDetail-oriented with a high level of accuracy./li liCompassionate and patient-focused attitude./li liAbility to work effectively in a team environment./li liProficiency in completing blood draws and processing labs/li /ul pstrongEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:/strong/p ul liHigh school graduate or GED required./li liCompletion of a Medical Assistant Diploma program from an accredited educational institute. Medical Assistant Certificate preferred, not required./li li2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant or related role in an outpatient clinic/medical office setting is preferred./li liBLS and CPR certification preferred./li liBilingual in Spanish and English required./li /ul pstrongPHYSICAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS:/strong/p pThis position involves prolonged periods of standing and walking, performance of precise tasks like drawing blood and administering medications, and occasionally, lifting of up to 50 pounds. Clear vision and acute hearing are essential for reading charts and monitoring patients. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are critical, especially under stress.
