Job Description
Family owned and operated funeral home seeking qualified person’s within our immediate service area for occasional after hours and weekend work. The most delicate of duties will include transportation of human remains into our care. Other duties will include (not limited to) attending parking, seating, and assisting set up of ceremonies at various locations. Qualified candidates will have an active driver’s license in good standing, pass a personal background check, be available regularly for overnight and/or weekends, be able to lift 100lbs, and be able to work calmly and discretely in stressful circumstances. The best candidates will live within 30 minutes of the Brunswick area and understand the importance of discretion and professional sensitivity required in the important service they provide.
Duties include:
Assist with the preparation and setup of funeral services, including arranging flowers, caskets, and other necessary items.
Assist with the transport of decedents into our care through final disposition (including to cemetery/crematory)
Assist funeral directors, as needed to coordinate service details and ensure all aspects are executed according to the family's wishes.
Perform heavy lifting as needed when handling caskets or other equipment during services.
Engage with families and guests in a respectful manner.
Qualifications of the best candidates are:
Previous experience in bereavement support is preferred but not required.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to customer service.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with funeral services.
Valid, unrestricted drivers license; clean criminal record
Suit or business attire (clothing stipend is afforded to employees completing probationary period)
