Job Summary:

As the Sushi Restaurant Manager / Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, maintaining high service standards, managing staff, and ensuring a smooth and efficient dining experience. You will work closely with the culinary team to uphold our commitment to quality, tradition, and innovation in Japanese cuisine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all restaurant operations including front and back of house

  • Manage and schedule staff (servers, kitchen, sushi chefs, hosts)

  • Ensure excellent customer service and handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally

  • Monitor food quality and presentation in collaboration with head chef

  • Manage inventory, supply orders, and vendor relationships

  • Maintain cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations

  • Train, motivate, and evaluate team performance

  • Implement cost control and budget management strategies

  • Drive sales and customer engagement through promotions and events

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a restaurant manager (sushi/Japanese cuisine experience preferred)

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of Japanese food and dining culture a plus

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred

  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic business software
