Cafe Team Lead

Position Summary:

The Cafe Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations, including team leadership, customer satisfaction, product quality, inventory, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. This role is a hands-on leadership position that combines operational efficiency with people-focused service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and motivate team members to deliver outstanding service

• Train and oversee FOH and BOH staff

• Manage shift coverage

• Maintain cafe cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and ABC codes

• Manage ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships

• Handle customer and employee feedback and resolve issues promptly

• Ensure consistent quality of coffee, food, and service

• Open and/or close the cafe as scheduled

• Uphold and model cafe culture, policies, and standards

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of leadership experience, preferably in a cafe or restaurant

• Strong communication skills

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

• Basic understanding of point-of-sale systems

• Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Barista experience or coffee knowledge

• ServSafe certification or similar food safety training

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs

• Comfortable working in a kitchen or cafe environment with frequent movement
