Flooring Helper

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Flooring Installer Helper to join our team. The helper will assist lead installers with preparing, transporting, and installing various flooring materials, including carpet, hardwood, vinyl, laminate, and tile. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, have strong attention to detail, and are eager to learn a skilled trade.

Responsibilities

• Assist flooring installers with measuring, cutting, and fitting flooring materials.

• Prepare job sites by removing old flooring, cleaning surfaces, and ensuring work areas are ready for installation.

• Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to job sites.

• Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.

• Mix adhesives, mortar, or grout as directed by the installer.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment during and after installation.

• Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear at all times.

• Provide general labor support such as lifting heavy materials and assisting with cleanup.

• Learn trade techniques and progressively take on more skilled tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Prior construction or flooring experience is a plus but not required.

• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods.

• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions.

• Reliable transportation to job sites.

• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed at commercial, and industrial job sites.

• Requires bending, kneeling, standing, and lifting for extended periods.

• Some weekend or evening work may be required depending on project needs.
