Gastroenterology Physician - Now Hiring

Coverage Needed

• Start Date: December 2025
• End Date: Ongoing
• 24-hour on call coverage
• Approx 10 days, per month hospital rounding/call
• Schedule:
  • Sunday December 21(7pm) - Tuesday December 23(7pm) - 24 hr call
  • Orientation on Friday Dec 19 (7.30 to 5pm) - Negotiable
• 2026: coverage needed almost every weekend (most probably from Thur 7pm to Sunday 7pm)
  • weekends will be distributed

Clinical Details

• General gastroenterology services including diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts, and liver
• Services include pillcam capsule endoscopy, screening exams, ultrasounds (EUS), CT colonography, flexible sigmoidoscopy, double-contrast barium enema, FIT, gFOBT, stool DNA test, ERCP, endoscopy, and colonoscopy
• Trauma Level: III
• EMR: EPIC
• GI Physician will be responsible for placing orders that they will be recommending
• Inpatient coverage, 100% hospital based
• No clinic; outpatient scoping depending on need
• Support Staff: 3 NPs
• 100% Adult patients
• Average Patients per Day: Hospital: 10
• Average Surgeries per Day: 20 including outpatient scoping
  • Trauma: 0-1, Elective: 0-1, Inpatient: 10

Requirements

• Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible (5-yr from training)
• Experience: More than 2 years
• Certifications: ACLS-AHA issued, BLS-AHA issued
  • ACLS required if performing conscious sedation
• Flu Vaccine: Required or need medical or religious exemption
• COVID Vaccine: Required or need medical or religious exemption
• Active IN State License or IMLC
• Patient Contacts/Procedure Logs: require most recent 24-months
