Job Overview:

As a Front Desk Attendant at The Bocce House of Pittsburgh, you will be the first point of contact for guests, providing a welcoming, friendly, and efficient experience. You will assist with reservations, check-in/check-out procedures, answer questions, and ensure the overall smooth operation of the facility. This role requires excellent customer service, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome all guests in a professional, friendly, and helpful manner.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries about facility operations, hours of operation, pricing, and event bookings.
  • Check in guests, confirm their reservations, and assign them to the appropriate bocce courts.
  • Handle credit card, and online transactions for booking fees, rentals, and other services.
  • Maintain and organize the front desk area, ensuring all necessary materials (e.g., scorecards, equipment, brochures) are available.
  • Provide information about facility amenities, upcoming events, and membership programs.
  • Keeping the lobby area tidy and ensuring that any maintenance issues are reported to management.
  • Relay any inquires for private events, etc. to the manager.
  • Promote membership and promotional packages to guests as appropriate.
  • Assist with basic administrative duties.
  • Any and all other duties assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with guests.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., using booking systems, processing transactions, managing emails).
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in booking and transactions.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods and lift light to moderate weights (e.g., equipment, supplies).
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A passion for sports, games, and a positive attitude towards customer engagement is a plus.
