Preschool Assistant Teacher

Be Above Worldwide Institute Inc. is a nonprofit children’s organization that provides quality Center Based childcare for families. Our school supports all aspects of children’s growth and development in a safe and nurturing environment. Be Above provides a sound educational foundation for children’s academic growth. Our program provides comprehensive services for children and their families in keeping with our philosophy that the caregiver is the child’s primary teacher.

Positions are 10-months or 12-months. Work hours are 7:30 am-4:00 pm. We are currently hiring multiple Teacher Assistants for the Fort Hamilton location in Brooklyn, NY.

Requirements for Assistant Teacher Position:

Must be 18 years of age or older

Must have a High School Diploma/GED.

Preferably be enrolled in or have completed a Child Development Associates Credential (CDA)

Or completed or be enrolled in an Early Childhood Associates Degree or a BS/BA in early childhood education

and/or have NYS Teaching Assistant - Level I, II, or III Certificate or be in process of completing the certification

Experience working with children ages 3-5 (Preferably in a childcare or school setting).
Must be willing to assist the Lead Teacher with paperwork including, child assessments, child daily logs and classroom logs. Must be a team player.
Familiarity with the Creative Curriculum and Head Start a plus

Bilingual Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, Arabic preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32,000 - $38,500.00 per year
