Job Summary
We are seeking a Superstar Payroll Administrator to join our team! This role is responsible for processing high-volume, weekly, multi-state construction payroll, including union and certified payroll reporting as well as managing the entire process. The ideal candidate will be a competent problem-solver, detail-oriented, and dedicated to learning and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
· Process multi-state, high-volume weekly payroll for 500+ employees (and growing) using Workforce Go! / UKG
· Manage union payroll reporting, certified payrolls (WH-347), and prevailing wage requirements
· Review and verify timekeeping records, overtime, PTO, and leaves
· Handle deductions, garnishments, benefits contributions, and 401(k) remittances
· Reconcile payroll and general ledger accounts; prepare journal entries and year-end adjustments
· Maintain accurate, confidential employee payroll records
· Respond to employee inquiries and third-party requests (garnishments, unemployment, audits, etc.)
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and union payroll regulations
· Generate payroll reports for management, finance, and HR
· Use advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, reporting) for reconciliations and analysis
· Collaborate with HR and Finance on onboarding, offboarding, and special projects
Qualifications
· 3–6 years of payroll administration experience (construction payroll required)
· Experience with multi-state, high-volume, and union payrolls
· Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance and certified payroll reporting
· Proficiency in Workforce Go! payroll software (or similar, with ability to learn quickly)
· Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
· High attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy
· Strong problem-solving skills with dedication to learning and adapting
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with payroll/HRIS systems
· CPP or FPC certification preferred (not required)
- Background in construction industry payroll compliance
- Experience reconciling payroll with GL accounts
