Imaging Services – Jerome Hospital (CT/X-ray Unit)Certification Requirements:
- General: BLS required
- Modality-Specific: ARRT certification in both X-ray and CT required
Department Overview:
- Equipment Available:
- 1 CT Scanner (Siemens)
- 2 X-ray Rooms (Philips)
- 1 Portable X-ray (Philips)
- 1 Ultrasound (U/S)
- 1 DEXA Scanner
- Daily Exam Volume (Average):
- CT: 5–10 exams
- X-ray: 10–15 exams
- U/S: 8–10 exams
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform imaging for ER, inpatient, and outpatient
- Portables, Stroke-certified imaging, Trauma
- No OR or Fluoroscopy
- Must be able to start IVs for CT
- May be trained on EPOC for point-of-care creatinine testing (CT prep)
- Must understand basic scan protocols (protocol book provided)
- Flexibility to float to Magic Valley Hospital (rare)
Required Experience:
- Proficient in both CT & X-ray
- Must be able to confidently work in either modality
- Familiarity with Siemens (CT/X-ray) and Philips (X-ray/portable) preferred
- Must be able to adapt using provided protocol resources and physician preferences
Scheduling & Shifts:
- 10-hour shifts, 24/7 department coverage
- Day Shift: 2 techs
- Night Shift (6p–7a): 1 tech
- Some 12-hour weekend shifts
- Schedule created by Lead Tech (Kelsey Riggen)
- No "one-on-one-off" patterns preferred
- No call or standby
- Holiday: Downstaffed; typically not required to work
Orientation:
- 1–3 days department-specific orientation (can be extended)
- Educator: Melissa (Medical Imaging Educator) supports onboarding and training
Other Info:
- Scrubs: No color requirement
- EMR/PACS: EPIC & McKesson/Change Healthcare PACS
- Leadership:
- Manager: Sandra Hall
- Lead Tech: Kelsey Riggen
- Radiologist: Available via call (located at Magic Valley)
- RRA Usage: None
Additional Policies:
- Floating: Rare, only to Magic Valley (disclosed during interview)
- Radius Rule: Must live outside 50 miles to qualify for travel positions
- RTO: Must be disclosed during the interview
