American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer for an echocardiography unit, requiring RDCS or RCS certification and at least 1 year of cardiac sonography experience.
Details- Outpatient and inpatient echocardiography setting within a cardiovascular services department
- Patient population spans neonate to geriatric, with adult TTE and simple pediatric indications (murmur, bicuspid AV, ages 5 and older)
- Procedures include comprehensive echocardiograms, transesophageal echo (TEE), stress echo, Definity/Optison and bubble studies (agitated saline), and PISA quantification with strain imaging
- Proficiency with GE and Philips ultrasound equipment
- Epic used for charting; experience preferred
- Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM; no weekends or call required for this assignment
- 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts
- 13-week contract
- RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) certification required
- BLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross)
- Associate's degree or graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited sonography program required
- Minimum of 1 year of cardiac sonography experience required
- Experience with adult TTE, TEE, stress echo, and pediatric cardiac indications required
- Proficiency in scanning cardiac abnormalities and completing a full echo with report within 60 minutes
- Knowledge of cardiac pathophysiology, diagnostic procedures, and cardiac hemodynamics
- Must be able to tolerate frequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulder level, and occasional twisting and turning
- Active license required if applicable
- DOB required for consideration
- Independently performs comprehensive echocardiographic studies integrating all cardiac imaging modalities and accurately documents findings using the Echo Information Management System
- Collaborates with Lead and Advanced Cardiac Sonographers, Echocardiographers, and physicians to assist in interpretation of echocardiographic findings
- May assist with orientation and training of students and trainees in the cardiovascular services department
- Experience with outreach services is helpful
- COVID vaccination and booster required for eligibility
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
