Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer - MCHS
Location: Austin, MN
Job Summary: Competently performs complete echocardiographic studies integrating all cardiac echo imaging modalities and procedures necessary to obtain all pertinent patient data. Documents patient data and echo exam information completely and accurately utilizing the Echo Information Management System and other necessary computer applications.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven ability to work with co-workers, physicians, and all levels of healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of cardiac pathophysiology, diagnostic procedures, and patient care procedures.
- One of the following educational qualifications: Associates degree or graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited sonography program.
- ARDMS-Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or CCI-Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
- BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of cardiac experience preferred and registry eligible.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in adult and pediatric cardiac sonography, including transesophageal and stress echo.
- Experience with outreach services.
- Proficient in GE and Phillips machines.
- EPIC experience preferred.
Additional Information:
- Adult TTE, inpatient and outpatient, emergency, comprehensive understanding of cardiac hemodynamics, PISA quantification, strain, and simple pediatric indications (murmur, bicuspid AV, etc., 5 years old and older).
- Experience in Definity, Optison, and bubble studies (agitated saline).
- Proficient in scanning cardiac abnormalities, quick learning, adaptable, correctly documenting findings, and ability to scan a full echo and report in 60 minutes.
- Expectations include stress lab and stress echo lab procedures, outreach, on-call practices, weekends, evenings, and holiday coverage as needed.
- Available for 24-hour call within a 30-minute response time.
- Must demonstrate flexibility in learning all equipment, imaging specialties, and echocardiography procedures.
- Must understand sterile procedures and isolation precaution techniques.
- Must be able to tolerate frequent walking, standing, pushing, and pulling, and endure occasional twisting and turning.
- Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing, hear at ordinary conversation level, and possess good visual acuity.
