Position: Registered Nurse - Med Surg/Telemetry
Location: Lubbock, TX 79410

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks+Extensions
 

Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions who require continuous cardiac monitoring. The RN assesses patient conditions, administers medications and treatments, monitors telemetry rhythms, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, and ensures safe, high-quality patient care.

Duties

  • Assess, monitor, and document patients' physical and mental health status.
  • Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
  • Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize arrhythmias.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, and diagnostic findings.
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Care for patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, renal, gastrointestinal, and post-operative conditions.
  • Manage IV therapy, central lines, PICC lines, Foley catheters, wound drains, and chest tubes.
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, and pain management.

Requirements

  • Compact or TX state RN license.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg/Telemetry RN experience.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Will position float between units: No
Is on-call required: No
Are weekends required: Yes According to scheduling needs
Are block schedules required: No
What are expected ratios: 1:5-6
Special requirements: Orthopedic Trauma-Post op care management, blood administration, wound vac management.
